Once you have decided to go forward with your project it is then time to find a qualified contractor. Remember, you are making a financial investment in your home, not only for your enjoyment but also for resale value if you decide to sell your home.  Here are a few things to keep in mind when choosing a contractor.

Do your Homework!  Ask for references and place a call or two to find out the experience that the reference has had with the contractor.  Also, check out the rating of the contractor with the Better Business Bureau.  Scane Custom Cabinets has an AAA rating with the BBB.  Make sure the company has liability and workers comp insurance.  For some contractors, when times are tough, there insurance is the first to go.

Take a shop tour.  Scane Custom Cabinets offers shop tours during our office hours.  We are a complete custom in-house manufacturing cabinet shop.  We can show you the cabinet making process from beginning to end.  Including all of the custom cabinet finishes that we have available.

Get more than one estimate and beware the low bid.  I am sure you have heard the horrer stories some have had with contractors.  Some contractors will bid a job low and then you are charged for extras that should have been included in your custom cabinet job.  Get it in writing.  At Scane Custom Cabinets your bid will be very clear showing all inclusions and footages for your custom cabinets.  If it is not in writing, it isn't there.

The bottom line is this, a quality job will cost more that a cheap job.  At Scane Custom Cabinets you will receive a quality job!

I never knew about the insurance. Thank you for pointing that out.

Scane, thank you for the tour of your facility in January. I feel confident referring your services from the quality work I witnessed. The fact you mentioned taking a factory tour is what allowed me to see how serious you are about quality workmanship.
