More and more homeowners are turning what used to be just a place to cook and serve meals into a room that incorporates everything from entertainment to a functional work space. Anything goes in kitchen design from ultra modern to country charm. Popular hardwoods include Beech, Cherry, Maple and Oak. Distressed woods such as Rustic Beech are also being used to add texture and depth to kitchen design. You can expect to see a return of $2.00 for every $1.00 that you spend in remodeling your kitchen.

Re: Increasing the value of your home

This is so true. A realtor recently commented that my cabinets would help my home sell better than others in my neighborhood.

Re: Increasing the value of your home

I was lucky enough to move into a home that already had a kitchen face lift and some redesign. A large portion of our decision to buy the home was because the kitchen was so attractive. We spend a lot of time in our kitchen and I love the convenience features we have. All the drawers pull out 100% so nothing can hide in the back. Below our stove we have a large cabinet that houses 2 large pull out flat drawers where we keep all our cookware. (3 skillets and their lids, 4 pots and their lids, 5 cookie sheets, 2 cup cake sheets, etc) Also, we have one very large drawer that is very deep. All the large appliances can fit in there and a 22 inch high pot for clam bakes fits in there. I love our kitchen. Scane, I’ll call you out when we need another kitchen make over!
