Choosing a Contractor
What to look for when choosing a Contractor
Once you have decided to go forward with your project it is then time to find a qualified contractor. Keep in mind you are making a financial investment in your home. Not just for your enjoyment but also for resale value if you sell your home in the future. Here are 3 tips:
1. Do your homework. Ask for references and place a call or two to find out the experience that the reference has had with the contractor. Also, check out the rating of the contractor through the Better Business Bureau. Scane Cabinets has an AAA rating with the BBB. Make sure the company has valid liability and workers comp insurance.
2. Take a shop tour. We offer shop tours during our office hours. We are a complete in house manufacturing cabinet shop. We can show you the cabinet making the process from beginning to end, including the custom finishes that we have available.
3. Get more than one estimate and beware the low bid. I’m sure you have heard the horror stories some have had with contractors. Some contractors will bid a job low and then you are charged for extras that should have been included in the first place. Get it in writing. Our bids will be very clear showing all the inclusions and footages for your cabinets. If it is not in writing, it isn’t there.
The bottom line is this, a quality job will cost more than a cheap job. At Scane Cabinets you will receive a quality job!
